The recent UK Jewellery Awards 2007, held at London's Grosvenor House on Park Lane, saw a Platinum Guild International-sponsored award handed to a London-based designer.
Platinum Guild International sponsors the Luxury Jewellery Designer award, which this year was presented to David Marshall London, a designer who has created a number of pieces using platinum.
Established jewellery designers such as Paul Spurgeon, Stephen Webster and Shaun Leane have all seen their careers take off following their first UK Jewellery Award, according to the event's website, something that the winners from this year's awards will be hoping to follow.
The 2007 awards, which took place last month, recognised David Marshall London for its work, which the winning designer's website labels as "diamond and colour gem-set platinum jewellery".
David Marshall London was able to beat five other short listed luxury designers - Hannah Martin, Marco Bicego, Padani Jewellers, Rowlandsons and Soley Fine Jewellery - to the accolade.
