Platinum jewellery retailer the Signet Group has announced a rise in profitability.
In the 26-week period leading up to August 4th, the group - whose companies produce a variety of gorgeous platinum jewellery - reported total sales of £800.9 million - a rise of 9.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, like-for-like sales increased by 3.2 per cent from the same time last year, for the firm which is the largest specialty jewellery company in the world.
Commenting on the figures, group chief executive Terry Burman said: "Against the background of a challenging retail environment in their respective markets, both divisions performed well."
However, he warned that the trading outlook on both sides of the Atlantic currently remains unclear and that as the ever-important Christmas period approaches, it is this time that will usually have the greatest influence on how the firm has performed over the year.
And those looking for the perfect platinum jewelry gift for their loved ones over the festive period are sure to find something for them in one of the Signet Group's companies.
American chain Jared showcases a variety of eye-catching platinum pieces, in addition to giving customers a chance to 'build' their own platinum ring from a whole host of designs.
Meanwhile, the British retailer Ernest Jones features a stunning platinum Leo Diamond solitaire ring with a retail value of £3,600.
