'Bold and Beautiful' was the theme of this year's Singapore JewelFest 2007.

For the fifth year, the south-east Asian city has played host to some of the world's finest jewelry designers, who displayed their magnificent wares at three venues.

Jansen Siak, public relations director of Word of Mouth Communications, told the Manila Standard: "This affluence has resulted in people looking for more unusual-looking jewelry.

"This year, the organizers chose three venues for the exhibition instead of just one to make it more accessible to more people," he went on.

Among the brands on display were Hodel, Giovanni Ferraris, Marco Bicego, Oro di Roma, Hearts on Fire Diamond, Baejewels, Habib and Diamond and Platinum.

The theme of 'Bold and Beautiful' put the emphasis of designs on striking pieces, pointing to female empowerment.

Attracting particular attention at the show was The Safari by DeGem, a lion medal crafted in platinum and encrusted with diamonds, rubies and onyx.
