The true star of Hollywood movie Definitely Maybe was not the actor Ryan Reynolds but the engagement ring he carried in his pocket throughout the film.

Reynold's character carries the Lazare Diamond band throughout the movie while he contemplates which women to propose to.

During the film, there are several close up shots of the bauble to emphasize the character's plight, reports Jewellers Circular Keystone.

Marcee Feinberg, vice president of marketing, Lazare Kaplan International, told the publication: "We were just thrilled that they chose one of our Lazare rings to 'star' in this movie.

"The producers were given several rings to choose from and it's an honour to play such an important role along side this distinguished cast."

The film also stars Brit actress Rachael Weiz and red-headed starlet Isla Fisher.

Lazare Diamonds has been creating platinum and gold jewellery since 1903.
