Platinum is beginning to feature more prominently in Indian bridal jewellery, according to a report.
DNA Money claims that platinum gives those looking to "break away from traditional gold" an alternative option, Sify.com reports.
The news provider notes that platinum, whether used for wedding bands, cufflinks or a necklace, is a "reflection of your inner beauty, strength and style".
Commenting on platinum jewellery, former Miss India, Queenie Dhody, said that "diamonds look better on platinum".
"I personally think platinum is one step ahead of gold and gives a more solid feel to jewellery than gold does," she added.
In related news, the UK's jewellery industry is likely to be boosted by Coutts London Jewellery Week taking place later this year.
The event, which will include catwalk shows, new designer exhibitions and workshops, is being held at the Tower of London between June 11th and June 15th.
