The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show has attracted a significant number of first-time visitors.
Some 4,200 first-time visitors descended on the show, which will last until March 8th, including a number of buying representatives from notable jewellery retail and manufacturing companies such as US-based Tiffany and Ben Bridge and the UK's Goldsmiths.
Boasting a record 2,306 exhibitors, the jewellery show also features 22 pavilions representing a variety of nations along with a number of pavilions for international associations such as the Platinum Guild International, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the International Coloured Gemstone Association.
The event also hosted five sessions of seminars focused upon jewellery designs and inspirations and several auctions.
The show's success is the latest sign that Hong Kong's jewellery industry is booming.
As the world's fourth largest jewellery exporter, the nation saw a 17 per cent increase in its exports in 2007.
