The world's largest jewellery showroom has opened in Chennai, India on March 13th.

With over 70,000 square foot of floor space, Joy Alukkas Jewellery offers consumers more than a million jewellery designs from all over the world to choose from.

The store is located in at Prashanth Real Gold Tower and is spread over several floors - one of which is dedicated solely to platinum and diamond jewellery.

It also features sections devoted to precious stones including pearls, sapphires, rubies and topaz.

A recent article on Mangalorean.com states that the Joy Alukkas Group only offers 100 per cent IGI certified flawless Belgian cut diamonds, and a 100 per cent PGI certified, Platinum jewellery - to ensure that all its products are of the highest quality.

The opening of the showroom is the first step in the group's plan to open 100 showrooms across India and the GCC by 2009.
