Men are embracing jewellery trends with increasing enthusiasm, it has emerged.
A recent report in the Orlando Sentential highlighted that a rising number of men are donning accessories, such a watches, cufflinks and chains, as fashion statements rather than practical items.
It supports this claim with statistics from American Express, which show that in the past six months its platinum-concierge service has received several hundred requests from its members for men's jewellery.
However, the publication also warned that men must be careful in choosing their baubles.
A spokesperson for the Jewellery Information Centre is quoted as saying that jewellery worn by men should be comfortable "both physically and emotionally" and be understated and not too sparkly.
A number of male celebrities adorned themselves with extravagant jewellery for recent red carpet appearances.
Johnny Depp modelled platinum shirt studs from Kwiat, while Forest Whitaker and George Clooney both opted for platinum cufflinks.
