A number of Hollywood's biggest stars donned platinum for the recent Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Annual Gala in New York.
Tilda Swinton, Liv Tyler, Naomi Watts, Ellen Barkin and Venus Williams all accessorised their outfits with the precious white metal and vintage pieces were much in favour.
Liv opted for a 1940s platinum and diamond cuff bracelet and a platinum ring which dates back to the 1930s, while Tilda modelled a platinum and diamond 'starburst' bracelet from the 1940s and an unusual coral and platinum 'star' which was formerly owned by Diana Vreeland.
Naomi, who was recently announced as the new face of Thierry Mugler's Angel perfume, wore a platinum and diamond cocktail ring, while tennis player Venus selected three platinum bracelets which all dated back to the 1930s.
However, it was Ellen whose platinum accessories garnered the most attention, with 1930s clip brooches, 1920s earrings and a platinum buckle bracelet all complementing her simple black dress.
The gala, which this year had the theme Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy, was hosted by a-listers George Clooney and Julia Roberts alongside designer Giorgio Armani and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
