Jewelry-maker ArtCarved has released a limited edition platinum wedding ring of which only 250 are available, according to jckonline.com.
 
The website reports that ArtCarved has received an "extremely positive" response to the ring, and it is being considered for several design awards.
 
The handcrafted ring's "graceful silhouette" features "diamond-tapered baguettes accenting pave diamonds that cascade down the shank".
 
Each ring is engraved with a unique number and only 100 authorized retailers will stock the style.
 
In related news, a new survey has found that the number of people buying platinum and diamond jewelry over the internet has grown by 39 per cent over the last nine years.
 
In 1999, only three per cent of people said they had purchased jewelry online.
 
However, although prices are often lower online due to retailers not having to pay to rent shop space, the vast majority of people said they preferred to shop on the high street and in specialist stores to be able to touch and closely examine the jewelry.
