Unusual shapes, rare colors and a strong artistic sense combine to produce truly unique platinum jewellery, reports financialmail.co.za.
According to the website, jewellery designer Veronica Anderson offers pieces that are "artistic, whimsical and full of the wow-factor".
She started her business with the Many Moods of Africa collection, for which she collaborated with Anglo Platinum to produce five pieces designed to reflect South Africa.
Veronica works with a team of more than 30 goldsmiths, or artists as she prefers to call them.
Since her first success, she has launched a range of limited-edition platinum commitment rings and another collection with Anglo Platinum featuring unusual-colored stones is in the pipeline.
The designer was partner to Pam Thompson in Read's antique jewellery and gifts emporium but decided to go it alone after reaching the age of 50.
She said: "I'm a firm believer that the early 50s are the time to take stock, start over and do all the things - or one of them - that you've always wanted to do."
Meanwhile, a new diamond based on platinum prongs has been launched in the US.
The Celebration diamond, from Zale, can be bought in princess or round cuts from $1,499.
