Designer Jennifer Belton has created a truly unique twist on platinum jewellery, using natural materials such as ivory, thousand-year-old walrus tusks and fossilized mammoth bones in her work.
According to the Fairfield Weekly, she described her designs as "natural, sculpted jewellery", adding that the "raw, organic" aspect of it is what excited her.
Jennifer produces her one-of-a-kind rings and pendants in platinum and other metals from the ancient caramel and ochre-colored shards sold to her by Native Alaskans who are permitted to unearth them from the state's protected lands.
Her shop, JB Dzyne, is tucked away in one of North Stamford's most affluent neighbourhoods and features distinctly Celtic and Nordic elements.
She said: "I prefer it when customers come in, pick out a piece of ivory and commission a custom design."
Meanwhile, designer Barry Verragio has released his platinum Paradiso Collection, which he has said is inspired by his own marriage.
Jewelry-weblog.com reports that Barry has created a unique elegant scrolling design inside each ring to ensure a perfect fit around the finger.
