WJA to honor Diane von Furstenburg
4/14/2009
The Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) is to honor famed fashion designer Diane von Furstenburg with its Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement accolade at the forthcoming annual Awards for Excellence gala.

It will hold the event in New York on July 27th and other people who will be celebrated include Matt Runci, the recipient of the Ben Kaiser Award, and the Gemological Institute of America, which will be given a special Corporate Award for Excellence.

"Diane von Furstenberg, one of the leading icons in American fashion, is not only a connoisseur of jewelry, but a modern woman in every sense," said Yancy Weinrich, WJA president.

Roberto Stern, H.Stern's creative director, added: "Diane von Furstenberg is a businesswoman with a powerful, yet feminine aura surrounding her; her style is timeless and forever young."

Founded in 1983, the WJA is a group for women involved in the jewelry and watch sectors and related businesses.

An exclusive collection of fine jewelry by Diane von Furstenburg was launched in H.Stern shops in 2004.
