Platinum Guild International (PGI) is building on the success of last year's Platinum Trail by launching an exciting bridal jewellery design competition for exhibitors to enter at this year's International Jewellery London (IJL, 6-9 September 2009). The competition, to design a tri-set (matching engagement ring and male and female wedding rings) will be judged in the opening days of the fair.
The Platinum Trail was a huge hit last year with participating exhibitors enjoying the attention of retail buyers, attracted to their stand by distinctive POS display materials created by PGI, a reassuring endorsement for potential customers. This year PGI is offering the same support to manufacturers and designers with a significant platinum jewellery focus.
For those retail buyers who wish to plot out the course of the exhibition in advance, a map displaying the location of those participating in the Platinum Trail will also be available.
The bridal jewellery design competition will be judged by leading figures from the UK jewellery industry, including Sarah Carpin of Retail Jeweller magazine. The winner, whose original platinum tri-set designs show the most innovative use of the precious metal, will be announced at an exclusive PGI drinks reception open to a limited number of Trail exhibitors and Recommended Retailers.
