WHO: Platinum Guild International, the marketing arm for the worldwide platinum jewelry industry
WHAT: Platinum Guild International will be presenting a range of platinum-focused educational seminars at Atlanta Jewelry Show and the Smart Jewelry Show. Below is a brief overview of what PGI-USA will be offering at each show:
Atlanta Jewelry Show: Sunday, March 7 Platinum Bridal Seminar - The Bright Spot: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m in Room 103 More than 2 million people will marry in the U.S. this year - are you maximizing your profitability on each transaction? Kevin Reilly, Manager of Industry Relations at PGI-USA will share important consumer research results that present an incremental profit opportunity for jewelers who run a successful bridal business. Through this interactive session, you'll also learn how PGI can help you to seize this opportunity with the world's most precious and most profitable metal.
Platinum Alloys, Features and Benefits: 10:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Room 104 When working with platinum, as well as buying and selling platinum jewelry, one of the most important but often misunderstood questions is, "which alloy?" In this session, a MUST ATTEND for storeowners, sales managers, sales associates and bench jewelers, Jurgen Maerz, Technical Consultant to PGI-USA, will review the four most common platinum alloys used in manufacturing and discuss specialty alloys for specific applications. Learning about alloys and how they impact the manufacturing process and the performance of the finished product is important for everyone who makes and/or sells platinum jewelry.
"Take Back the Wedding" and Maximize your Profits with Platinum: 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. in Room 104 As the price of precious metals continues to trend upwards, there are some facts that remain unchanged - platinum is still the world's most precious (and most profitable) metal and consumer desire for platinum remains extremely high. Kevin Reilly will explain what couples spend their money on and where they're willing to "cut corners" as they plan their wedding. It's an urgent call to action to retail jewelers everywhere to "Take Back the Wedding" and reclaim their share of the wedding budget.
Platinum and Lasers Seminar - the Ultimate Solution!: 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. in Room 103 Jurgen Maerz shows jewelers how to work with platinum and lasers.
