Platinum Guild International Partners With Clothes Off Our Back

Los Angeles, CA (September 2005) -
Platinum Guild International's (PGI) Red Carpet Jewelry Preview that coincided with the 57th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, didn't merely provide the glitz and glamour of Platinum jewelry to some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.  An important aspect of this year's event was supporting philanthropies close to the hearts of many, through a partnership with Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, founded by Emmy nominee, Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), and her husband, Bradley Whitford (The West Wing).  Celebrities who attended the PGI suite, autographed limited edition bottles of Platinum "I Do" nail polish, valued at $250 per bottle, for the Fourth Annual Emmy Awards Clothes Off Our Back website auction, with proceeds from the sales going to Red Cross's Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, UNICEF's work in the Sudan, Half the Sky, and Cure Autism Now.

Signing the unique polishes that were created in a partnership with PGI-USA and Essie Cosmetics (containing pure Platinum dust provided by Johnson Matthey) for the Clothes Off Our Back auction, gave the celebrities a wonderful opportunity to benefit deserving charities.  "PGI wanted to find a way to give back, especially during these times of need here in the U.S and abroad. We feel that our partnership with Clothes Off Our Back offered us the chance to do just that", says Antonia Caamano, Public Relations Manager at PGI-USA, "The bottles are a much more affordable donation option for those who can not afford to purchase the higher priced items, valued in the thousands of dollars," she adds. Television stars whose personalized pure Platinum "I Do" polishes are up for auction, at a starting bid of $50.00, include: Emmy nominees Jane Kaczmareck, Terry O'Quinn (Lost), and Patricia Arquette (Medium), Nicollette Sheridan (Desperate Housewives), Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Rachel Leigh Cook (Las Vegas), Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris), Nikki Griffin (The OC), and Jacqueline McKenzie (The 4400).

A fabulous gift bag from PGI's Suite, worth over $2,000.00, was also donated to the Clothes Off Our Back Emmy Auction.  Contents include products from PGI, Taryn Rose, YMI Jeanswear International, Bodyography, La Senza, Biatta Intimates, Yuki Sharoni Salon, ALDO, Segway Los Angeles, Pueblo Bonito Hotels & Resorts, DOVE chocolate, Aroma Rest Sleep Pillows, Dr. Jessica Wu Cosmeceuteicals, Cookies by Design, Tend Skin, AROMA patches, Tiger & Jones, and Brandstorm Inc.

To bid on the items from the Emmy Suite donated by Platinum Guild International, along with over 80 other items worn by Hollywood's hottest stars, visit www.clothesoffourback.org through Tuesday, October 4th, 2005.  A limited supply of the Platinum "I Do" polish is still available for purchase at the spa in the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas.

Platinum is prized for its Pure, Rare and Eternal qualities:

PURE: Platinum's high level of purity (generally 90%-95% pure) endows it with both a natural white luster, allowing the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine; and hypoallergenic qualities that prove ideal for sensitive skin.

Only the purest platinum jewelry will bear a stamp reading "PLATINUM," "PLAT," "Pt 950," or "Pt 900," signifying the jewelry is 90% to 95% pure platinum.

RARE: Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold.

ETERNAL:  Platinum will hold a diamond or gemstone securely, now and for always.
