The platinum bridal jewellery market is withstanding the current downturn; stil top London retailers are not complacent. They're going al out to draw in the consumer launching dazzlingly innovative displays highlighting platinum's enduring appeal for those enjoying the best relationships during London Jewellery Week, 8 - 14 June 2009.
Seven London retailers*, chosen for their excellence in promoting platinum, and Platinum Guild International have enlisted the support of 2nd year product design students from Central St Martins College of Art and Design (CSM) to create exciting window displays that will make each store catch the eye of the passerby. The students have been given a remit to design a display featuring platinum bridal jewellery enticing bridal shoppers to venture inside.
The concept behind each display is a narrative based around the reasons for the purchase of a platinum ring. The designs will convey the pure, rare and eternal attributes of the precious metal and embody the symbolism of giving and receiving a wedding ring.
Each retailer has been presented with concepts from a dedicated student team, to ensure that the store window display emphasises the core values of the metal, relationships and the retailer brand. Stand out wil be increased with a showcase of the latest bridal designs using the most aspirational precious metal for consumers, platinum.
Winning designs wil be commissioned on 22nd May, ready for unveiling in store on the 8th of June.
