And the Platinum Winners are ...
Platinum Guild International (PGI) ensured that the presence of platinum jewellery was felt at IJL, through successful co-operation with exhibitors to highlight platinum product design using elegant and effective point of sale. The Trail directed visitors to the stands of platinum jewellery designers and manufacturers showcasing stunning new designs and best sellers. Eight intrepid judges also followed the platinum trail to choose the Best Platinum Display and Best Platinum Bridal Design. Representatives from The CMJ, Beaverbrooks, Wave Jewellery and Catherine Jones all judged stands, with Sarah Carpin of Retail Jeweller and James Courage, CEO of PGI.
The Trail has proved popular, many participants reporting an enthusiastic response to their bridal and fine jewellery creations. Participant numbers were up on last year, reinforcing the growing confidence at the show that platinum prices are unlikely to repeat the volatility of 2008 in the foreseeable future, and consumers remain highly motivated towards owning platinum jewellery.
"PGI are proud to remain a supporter of the UK platinum jewellery industry, and the Trail is a simple yet effective way for exhibitors to highlight the beauty and workmanship of their platinum jewellery offerings, and how this will appeal to consumers," explains Ruth Donaldson, UK Manager at PGI.

The variety of platinum jewellery offered retailers fresh solutions for their bridal collections, covering a wide range of price points .
The winners of both categories were announced at a PGI cocktail party held at the exclusive K-West Hotel on Monday evening. The best platinum bridal jewellery set was won by Sarah Jordan's flowing organic designs, and B&N walked away with the accolade for best platinum display at IJL
