ABOUT JURGEN MAERZ

Born and raised in Germany, Jurgen apprenticed as a bench jeweler in 1961 in Bad Kreuznach and Idar Obestein.  He moved to the United States in 1969 and has been working in the jewelry industry ever since.  Jurgen is a certified master bench jeweler and the author of two books, "The Platinum Bench" and "Adventures at the Bench" which have been published in seven countries and five languages.  Jurgen has been with PGI since November of 1996 and consults on all technical issues from platinum casting, bench techniques, and other platinum jewelry manufacturing processes.
